Madagascar

Madagascar is located in the Indian Ocean 250 miles off the eastern coast of Africa across the Mozambique Channel, just south of the equator. Over 1000 miles (1580 km) long and 350 miles (570 km) wide, Madagascar is the world's fourth largest island. With its outstanding forest greenery, it is certainly the best place to go if you want a relaxing vacation.

As Madagascar was a strongly recommended place to travel to, I went there with my friend.

After arrival, i decided to visit the flora and fauna of this majestic place. And a trip to one of madagascar's beach really took my breath away. Pearl white sand dotted the shore and lush greenery added a touch of colour to the wonder of this place. The gentle giants swayed their tiny fingers of green, as the crystal clear water lapped at the shores. With a closer look with my binoculars, i could see the tiny animals climbing from tree to tree. I was simply taken aback by this beauty of nature. I never thought i would lay my eyes on a place teeming with wildlife. From the concrete structure of the trees to the tiny little dots of the sands, the whole place was magnificent! As if welcoming me to this paradise, a small creature ran up to me! To my surprise, staring right at me with bulging beady eyes was a lemur! I ventured deeper into the green, looking out for monkeys and exotic animals. To my amazement, there were many of them!

The waters of Madagascar were absolutely pristine. The sea waters glittered and sparkled under the warm rays of sunlight. I peered closer into the blue waters and noticed many fishes swimming around in a colourful twist! Fishes of different species darted back and fouth through the transparent blue. Out of sheer excitement, my friend and I decided to kayak around the beach. Careful not to pollute this splendid nature, we did not bring anything that would cause any harm to the environment. It was a pleasure maneuvering around the waters, admiring the scenery and watching fishes swimming gracefully. Compelled to explore further, we decided to do a bit of snorkeling. Splashing into nature's bathtub, the cold but refreshing waters sparkled my whole body. My head went under water and what a great sight it is! Corals and barnacles littered the sea bed.The fishes engulfed us, spinning around as like a tornado, totally mesmerizing us with the rainbow of sea creatures. It was really a great sight to behold!

Soon, it was evening. We decided to settle down at a local restaurant to eat. I ordered a voanjobory sy henakisoa while my friend, ordered a ravimbomanga sy patsamena. When it was served, the sight of the dish made my mouth water. A euphoric smell filled my nostrils as i rubbed my hands together awaiting the scrumptious meal. I dug in and immediately started to stuff my face with food. Mmmmm!   The two dishes which were called laokas were simply delicious! I savoured the exquisite taste of the dish. I didn't stop until i realised that the food is gone! After eating, we bought a koba which is a local treat. It is a sweet made from ground peanuts, sugar and rice flour. The treat really tantalize my taste buds. I took a few shoots of some dishes. Don't they look delicious?

When dusk falls, the forest starts to come alive! Nocturnal animals scurry on the ground, climb the trees or simply just fly around. It was interesting to see furry animals scurrying to and fro, causing the brown branches seem like its moving.  Creepy crawlies scrambled across the dead leaves and rotting branches. They disappeared as soon as they appeared. My friend screamed with horror when a gigantic spider crawled up his leg. I laughed at him only to realise that there was one on my shirt. Beside a few little devils, the night scene was dazzling! Common animals like the lemurs, snakes and squirrels would suddenly poop out, right in front of your face! We spent a great deal of time admiring the night view of madagascar, looking and snapping creatures here and there. Thanks to my excellent photography techniques, i took a few pictures of the animals there. Say cheese!

Finally, we were exhausted and went back to our lodging. The day's adventure was really something worthy of praise. From the coasts of madagascar to the enticing dinner, madagascar is really a great place! A place where creatures roam around in the wild, or glide through the endless waterways. This place is paradise.
